Digital painting info for irl painters

Seems like most "intro to digital painting" instruction is geared around the notion that the students know everything about the digital and squat about the painting.

For us oldtimers who have read Loomis and figured out the importance of tone and painted our pieces with a brush, this can be as disheartening as the computer interface itself.  This is, in turn, a Bad Thing because (a) Learning never ends, and (b) Digital art has eaten the illustration business like a coyote sucking down a miniature schnauzer.

Sometimes the artist's journey needs some help...
Here's a nice online instructional program from illustrator Matt Kohr (and Lifehacker) that seems to actually be designed to teach Photoshop painting to traditional painters.  Check out "Digital Painting 101" at ctrlpaint.com.  I'm liking it so far.
